At Brentnalls SA, we are proud to be silver sponsors of Fat Farmers, a group that plays a crucial role in fostering health and well-being within rural communities. Supporting this inspiring initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to encouraging positive outcomes for people, especially those in regional areas.

Fat Farmers began in 2012, when Greg Hean, Ben Wundersitz, and Scott Hoyle—farmers near Maitland on Yorke Peninsula—jokingly adopted the name while getting fit at their local gym. Since then, the group has grown beyond Yorke Peninsula, reaching farmers across South Australia. What started as a small group of farmers over 40, looking to stay healthy, has now expanded to include a diverse range of participants—from cropping and grape growers to almond farmers, and members of all ages, from school children to retirees.

This network thrives thanks to the volunteer team coordinators, who dedicate their time and effort to keeping their groups organised and connected. Their hard work allows Fat Farmers to operate across the state, uniting communities in their shared goal of improving physical fitness and well-being.

Brentnalls SA, we recognise the tremendous value that these initiatives bring to rural South Australia. Bradley Barners, Partner, sits on the board as Deputy Chair and regularly participates in organised events.

By supporting Fat Farmers, we are investing in a healthier, stronger future for the communities we serve, and we are proud to stand alongside such a wonderful organisation.

Recently, Fat Farmers were featured on Landline (ABC) and A Current Affair (9Now), and we are starting to see other agricultural communities (interstate) getting involved.
