Microsoft OneNote
27 December 2021

If you’ve been looking for a solution to your digital note-taking problem, then Microsoft’s OneNote may be your answer.
OneNote acts as a notebook, a scrapbook, a whiteboard, and a pad of Post-It notes; all rolled into one program. The program allows you to create multiple notebooks that can be divided into sections and pages. It is simple to navigate and search; you’ll always find your notes right where you left them. For instance, your organisation may wish to create a notebook for each department and include sections for training materials, social spaces etc. The possibilities are endless.
Depending on your version, there are several ways to add content to your notebook, including:
- typing or writing using a stylus,
- recording audio and video,
- capturing screenshots,
- embedding files, and
- even copying text from a picture or files.
OneNote provides the perfect platform to collaboratively create and share your ideas with friends, family, and teammates.
While OneNote is a free program to use, if you are a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you’ll have the added benefit of integrations with other programs in the Microsoft suite, such as Word and Excel.
